Public Awareness Campaign | Digital Illustration
Created a series of diverse digital illustrations for the City of Boston’s Swim Safety campaign, launched in Fall 2023. The campaign was developed in response to a tragic drowning incident and aimed to promote swim education while addressing a national lifeguard shortage. The illustrated materials were included in swim safety kits distributed to children participating in free city-sponsored swimming lessons.
I was responsible for designing inclusive, age-appropriate characters that reflected the diversity of Boston’s communities while maintaining a friendly and approachable tone. All illustrations were developed in alignment with the City of Boston’s brand guidelines, incorporating official colors, typography standards, and logo placement requirements.
The challenge was balancing playful, engaging visuals with the seriousness of a public safety initiative, ensuring the designs were welcoming while clearly supporting the campaign’s mission.
